Costs less than Scott's Addition. Parking is easier. Staff is great. And it's only two miles further away than the hotel my company recommends. And you get a balcony or sliding door most of the time. Richmond West > Scott's Addition. Respect.

This place feels more like a Comfort Inn. Popcorn walls, outdated bathroom, TV that shut off randomly, sheets that smelled of weed. NOT what we are used to from Courtyard. But staff was fantasic and run was mostly clean.

This is supposed to be a smoke free property but my room smelled of cigarette smoke. I was only staying for one night so I didn't bring it to the attention of the front desk, had I stayed longer I would. Overall the room clean enough. Hotel and decor is outdated and the light in the bathroom kept going in and out. Overall you could probably get better value for your money elsewhere but if you just need a decent place to sleep, this will do.

Not a five star hotel by any means, but a solid place if you come to Richmond for anything. Clean, Rooms are nice, and the place has decent amenities.

We stay at this hotel several times a year. The property is older (built in the 80s, last updated 2013), and the rooms reflect that. However, they're always clean. Breakfast is not included with most rates. We find the rates to be affordable most dates, the hotel is well located (not downtown, but a short drive as compared to being out in Short Pump), and it's quiet despite being on a busier road. Our favorite part about the hotel is the staff. They are always friendly and helpful, and go above and beyond with their customer service. Based on location, rates, and staff we often choose to stay here over other more updated options in the area.

Never before have I experienced the authentic warmth, kindness, and exceptional service that I found at the Courtyard by Marriott Richmond West. In an emergency trip from Boston to tend to family in the nearby St. Mary’s ICU, I was incredibly grateful for the clean room, comfortable bed, and healthy food/coffee options after my long days in the hospital. Yet, more notably impressive, was the helpful staff, that genuinely wanted to make my stay memorable and easy. The owner was ever present and accessible too - so atypical of larger chain hotels. In particular to be recognized was Claudia, who was serving coffee and food in the Bistro. The day before my flight back, I expressed to her my heavy heart about leaving my sick uncle, but I was unable to stay any longer. We had chatted in days prior about my coming to Richmond after his tragic fall. To my surprise, she actually offered to help me with my uncle in whatever way she could, should I need help from afar. I thanked her profusely, but turned down her offer and sat to eat my breakfast. Awhile later, as I prepared to head to St. Mary’s for my final day, Claudia quietly came over to my table and handed me this sheet of paper, with her name and number written on it, which brought tears to my tired and worried eyes. While thankfully, my uncle had ongoing support even with me leaving town, this simple act of kindness goes above and beyond what you’d expect from hotel service, and so, worth a proper recognition. Kudos to the owners of this hotel for assembling a dream team that feels like a family, and a special heartfelt thank you to Claudia, for choosing to lead with her genuine kindness, even to a complete stranger, when I needed it most. An incredibly touching gesture that I will never forget. Not sure when I’ll be back to Richmond, but if I do return, this hotel is where I’ll be staying. Thanks again!
